Is It AI?

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Is It AI? mobile application ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the app on iOS and Android. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Summary

• You do not need to create an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or precise location.
• Images you check are used only to analyze them. We do not keep a copy of your images on our servers after the analysis is complete.
• Images you save to your history are stored only on your device.
• We do not show ads, we do not sell your information, and we do not use your images to train AI models.

2. Images You Analyze

When you choose an image to check, the app prepares it (for example, it may resize or compress it) and sends it over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our analysis server. The image is analyzed by our server and by trusted third-party AI analysis providers that act on our behalf, solely to determine whether the image appears to be AI-generated and to write a short explanation of the result.

We do not store your images on our servers after the analysis is complete, and we do not use your images for advertising, profiling or training AI models.

3. Your History

If you save a result to your history, a copy of the image is stored only on your device. The result itself (AI-generated or real, the confidence score, the written explanation, the file name and the date) is stored in our cloud database so your history can be shown in the app. You can delete any item from your history at any time. Deleting the app removes the images stored on your device.

4. Other Information We Collect

• App identifier: a device identifier provided by your device's operating system (not the advertising identifier) and an anonymous sign-in, used to keep track of your free scans, your history and your subscription status.
• Scan results: the outcome of each scan (AI-generated or real, confidence score and explanation, without the image), used to provide the service and to monitor and improve detection quality.
• Usage and device information: app interactions (for example, starting a scan or saving a result), app version, device type, operating system and language, used to understand how the app is used and to fix problems.
• Purchase information: subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive your subscription status and transaction details, but we never receive your payment card details.

5. How We Use Information

• To analyze the images you choose and show you the result
• To show your saved history
• To manage free scans and subscriptions
• To keep the service secure and prevent misuse
• To understand how the app is used, fix problems and improve the app and its detection quality

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted service providers that process information only to provide their services to us:

• AI analysis providers, which analyze images to help determine whether they are AI-generated
• Google Firebase (anonymous sign-in, cloud database, analytics and app configuration)
• Amazon Web Services (hosting of our analysis server)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Apple and Google (app distribution and payment processing)

These providers may process information on servers located in different countries and handle it in accordance with their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.

7. Data Retention

• Images you analyze are not kept on our servers after the analysis is complete.
• Images saved to your history stay on your device until you delete them or delete the app.
• Saved history results stay in our database until you delete them from your history.
• Other scan results and usage information are kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above.

8. Earlier Versions of the App

Versions of the app earlier than 1.1.2 upload analyzed images to secure cloud storage in order to analyze them and show them in your history. We recommend updating to the latest version. If you would like images uploaded by an earlier version deleted, please contact us.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Delete items from your history at any time
• Stop using the app and delete it at any time
• Request access to, or deletion of, information linked to your use of the app by contacting us

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, the GDPR or the CCPA). To verify a request, we may ask for information that helps us find the data, such as your subscription receipt.

10. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or alteration. However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
